Tems to Be Honored As Breakthrough Artist At Billboard’s ‘Women In Music’ Event

Nigerian singer Tems is set to shine at Billboard’s “women in music” event, where she’ll be honoured as the Breakthrough Artist.


The event, celebrating women in diverse musical roles, takes place on March 7 in Los Angeles.

Claiming to be unaware of how her music has impacted many, she said: “I’m not sure if I would ever really be aware of whatever impact my story has, but it feels inspiring to know that I’ve inspired others because I’m inspired by other people as well. It just encourages me to keep going,” she said


Tems, known for her collaborations with A-listers like Beyoncé and Drake, shared her journey in a recent interview, hinting at the release of her album later this year.

The rising star also downplayed her impact, stating: “It feels inspiring to know that I’ve inspired others.”

Tems gained fame through her collaboration on Wizkid’s 2020 hit “Essence,” which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of a remix featuring Justin Bieber,

The Grammy nominee is set to receive the award and showcase her talent at the Billboard Women In Music ceremony on March 7 at the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles.
