Terrorism in Kaduna State took another turn on Sunday after bandits kidnapped 87 people in a fresh wave of attacks.

The latest attack was said to have taken place in Kajuru-Station community in the Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

A member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, Harisu Dari, confirmed the incident to journalists on Monday in Kaduna.

According to Harisu, the terrorists did not only kidnap some members of the community but they also broke into some shops and stole food items and other valuables.

Harisu added that the terrorists attacked the village around 10 pm on Sunday with the fresh invasion coming barely two days after the previous incident.

The previous attack in Kaduna State saw bandits abduct 15 women and one man from the Dogon-Noma community of the same Kajuru Local Government Area.

“As of the time I visited the community, security operatives had not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers,” said Harisu.

“The villagers are traumatic with the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists.”

The rate of kidnapping in Nigeria has increased in recent times with states like Kaduna, Sokoto and Ekiti badly hit.
