The power of prayers

Text: Genesis 18:20-33
Prayer is very important in the life of every believer. Unfortunately, believers attach less importance to it today. The reason evil thrive in churches is due to lack of prayers. The church of Christ is in terrible mess because of prayerlessness. Cultism is not only on the increase, but has taken prominent place in churches because of non-challant attitude of Christians towards prayers.

Prayer is the only means through which man communicates to God and a believer who fails to pray will definitely live a miserable and defeated life. The mysteries that surround one’s life are uncovered in the prayer room.

Kingdom Power, as a church, was born in the court of prayers and believes in the power and efficacy of prayers. Therefore, the ministry is on earth to re-establish the scriptural acceptable pattern of prayers. Every year, the church dedicates March and October for fasting and prayers for 21 days. Members gather in the church from 6am to 6pm to observe their prayers. They put on hold all activities during this period to fully concentrate on the programme.

Prayer changes things at will; it is what moves God to action. Prayer delays judgment and, at times, outrightly stops it. It closes heaven; it also secures victory and stays the hands of God in judgment. Prayer pulls the strongest barriers out of the way. It touches and melts the hearts of hardened men. It takes man to Gilgal for re-establishment. Prayer takes away poverty and attracts tremendous riches to one’s life. Prayer wins the most difficult war; it changes the course and decisions of kings and queens.

Prayer has the power to dislodge the activities of devil and demons in homes and nations; it opens doors. It stopped Herod from executing his heinous decrees. Prayer is too powerful, but only few Christians know this!

The highest weapon world over is prayer. No weapon on earth can stand its potency. Prayer assisted the early church to achieve their divine goals. The early church understood the place of prayer and used it accordingly. The power of prayer conquers death. For instance, Lazarus came alive because of the prayer offered by Jesus Christ. When a man is crowned with the flame of Pentecostal prayer, he becomes a terror to the dark world.

Prayer is for believers and not sinners. Prayer cannot ascend to God without repentance and holiness. A believer should pray without ceasing. Christians who cannot pray should be ready to accept whatever devil offers to them. A dead church is a church that cannot pray. Such assembly has a particular pattern they follow in prayer and can moderate prayers or even postpone scheduled prayer at will. No human law can stop prayer on earth, especially believers who understand the place of prayer. Daniel defied the law of man that prohibited prayer and nothing happened!

It is time believers rekindled the fire of prayer in their lives and churches.
