This initiative is set to reignite the passion for theatre in Nigeria, starting with the bustling city of Lagos.According to a statement by the organisers, the performance dates are: May 17, 18 and June 1st, 2nd 2024 at Pinpoint Studios in Ikeja.

The series will kick off with a compelling political satire, ‘Two of a Kind,’ which promises to be a thought-provoking journey into the heart of contemporary Nigerian society.

Set against a backdrop of murder, brutality, and political intrigue, the play explores the lives of two friends who navigate the treacherous waters of power under masked identities.

Ojobaro, a staunch advocate for the power of theatre, believes that this art offers a unique and genuine entertainment experience that surpasses all other genres.

‘Theatre on The Mainland Series’ is his latest endeavour to provide theatre with the platform it deserves, to not only entertain but also educate and inform audiences one city at a time.

The statement reads: “Theatre Hub Africa is dedicated to telling our own original stories, creating an atmosphere that allows us to embrace and appreciate our African identity. From the historic city of Ibadan, the company has been addressing social issues and using theatre as a tool for development.

“Join us as we embark on this exciting journey to give theatre the recognition it truly deserves. ‘Two of a Kind’ is not just a play; it’s a movement, a call to action, and a testament to the enduring spirit of African storytelling.”
