Three siblings die in car suffocation incident in Kwara


Three siblings, a boy and two girls, have died after suffocating inside a parked car in Ilorin, Kwara State.


The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at No. 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters.

The victims’ mother, Shade Silifat, had reportedly stepped out to buy noodles for their school meals when the incident happened.

Upon returning home, she discovered their shoes outside the parked car and raised an alarm after forcing the doors open.


According to reports, the three children had locked themselves inside the car, which their father had borrowed from his sister.

The siblings were rushed to a nearby clinic, but the doctor on duty directed their transfer to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

Unfortunately, the three children were pronounced dead upon arrival. The remains of the siblings have since been laid to rest at a Muslim cemetery, following Islamic burial rites.
