Tinubu, Babangida hold closed-door meeting in Minna

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, visited former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) in Minna, Niger State, where the duo had a meeting.


The leaders discussed the state of the nation at the meeting, which was held behind closed doors at Babangida’s home, and also had Governor Mohammed Bago in attendance.

President Tinubu had left the venue of the inauguration of the agricultural mechanisation projects executed by Bago, in Minna, straight for the Hilltop residence of the former military leader in the capital city.

Although details of the meeting were unclear at the time of filing this report, but according to sources the meeting, which lasted over an hour, bordered on the current situation in the country.

At the projects’ inauguration, Tinubu had said it was not in his character to blame past administrations for the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges, restating his commitment to taking the right actions to re-engineer the country’s finances and stay on the right path to achieve progress.
