Tinubu tasks wives of former presidents, others on collective responsibility

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at an Iftar she hosted at the state House, Abuja, declared that the task of getting the nation fully back on track is a collective responsibility.

The wife of the President who made the remarks when she hosted wives of former Presidents as well as wives of former governors among others, also expressed optimism that the nation will be greater.


“Mr. President will do all it takes to make the nation better, that even when we live here, we will go back to a better Nigeria. We all have tasks to do to get this nation back on track,” she stated.

The wife of the President noted that all the various programmes initiated by the President are on track, and the results are beginning to be evident.

Earlier, the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima urged all women to be their brothers’ keepers.

Toeing the line of the First Lady, Mrs Shettima pointed out that governance is a collective responsibility, and urged women to remember the nation in their prayers, especially during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The guest lecturer, Professor Rafatu Abdul Hammed of the University of Abuja advised women not to forget all they learnt during Ramadan, and continue in that line.

She said, living in love, piety, humility and tolerance will enhance the lives of Nigerians.

A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, Sunday, explained that prayers were offered for the nation, the President and the world during the occasion.

Those who attended included female justices, wives of governors, female ministers, wives of ministers as well as wives of the nation’s service chiefs.
