Nigerians have been urged to ignore rumours about the ministerial list of President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, on Thursday, said that the president’s ministerial list is not ready.

Alake said this while addressing reporters at the State House in Abuja.

“There is no iota of truth in all of those things,” Alake said. “When the President is good and ready, you will be the first to know about his intentions.”

Tinubu, having been sworn in as president on May 29, 2023, is expected to submit his ministerial list to the Senate before 29 July.

Meanwhile, Thursday was such a busy day for Tinubu as the president assented to four Executive Orders deferring and suspending the commencement of certain taxes paid by companies in Nigeria.

Alake told newsmen that the move is in line with President Tinubu’s pledge during his inauguration on May 29 to address business unfriendly fiscal policy measures and multiplicity of taxes.

Alake said in line with the President’s promise to put Nigerians at the centre of government policies, he has signed four Executive Orders.

“The Finance Act (Effective Date Variation) Order, 2023, has now deferred the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023 to September 1, 2023.

“This is to ensure adherence to the 90 days minimum advance notice for tax changes as contained in the 2017 National Tax Policy.
