Tinubu’s policies worsening hardship, decimating Nigerians, says Atiku’s aide

President Bola Tinubu

Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing its policies of pushing Nigerians deeper into poverty and hardship.

In a statement released on Thursday, Shaibu painted a grim picture of the nation’s economic situation, highlighting rising food prices, business closures, and increasing desperation among citizens.

He compared the current state to a “cancerous patient” being treated by a “quack doctor,” arguing that Tinubu’s policies are worsening the situation rather than offering solutions.

Shaibu specifically criticized the administration’s handling of key issues like inflation, unemployment, and social welfare programs. He pointed to the skyrocketing cost of staple foods like beans and rice, the closure of millions of small businesses, and the diversion of funds meant for alleviating poverty.

He also questioned the competence of Tinubu’s cabinet, suggesting that many appointments were based on loyalty rather than expertise. He cited the large size of the cabinet, the splitting of ministries, and the purchase of luxury items like SUVs for National Assembly members as examples of wasteful spending amidst widespread hardship.

Shaibu’s criticism extends beyond economic issues, touching on security and national development. He claims Tinubu’s overreliance on international organizations like the IMF reflects his lack of understanding of Nigeria’s unique challenges.

He argues that the President’s experience in Lagos, heavily reliant on pre-existing infrastructure and corporate revenue, does not translate effectively to managing a national economy.

The statement concludes with a stark warning: “Tinubu still has three years and three months to increase the poverty level,” implying further deterioration under his leadership.
