Train girls to become future leaders, Nigerians advised

As the 2024 International Women Day (IWD) approaches, Nigerians have been urged to train girls to become responsible leaders in future.

It has also been observed that the cries that women are not adequately represented in leadership positions today are traceable to the lack of preparation or training for girls of yesterday to become responsible leaders of today.

All men and women of goodwill have, therefore, been called upon to do all possible to ensure that girls are trained to become future leaders in all aspects of life.

The call is contained in a statement by Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN), an organisation, which is partnering with Delta Airline on leadership training for girls, tagged, ‘Leadership Empowerment Achievement Development Camp in Nigeria,’ as part of International Women’s Day celebrations in March, scheduled to be held in Ghana.

According to the statement, the five-month camp commenced in November 2023 and will last till March 2024. It aims to empower 100 young girls across Nigeria, free of charge.

The statement reads: “The camp consists of a one-day innovation camp in Lagos, followed by the completion of JA DEEP and Social Impact Projects over eight weeks.”
