UITH resuscitates two oxygen plants

The management of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), yesterday, announced the resuscitation of the hospital’s two oxygen plants under its on-going repositioning exercise.

According to the Head, Corporate Affairs Unit (CAU) of the UITH, Mrs. E.O. Ajiboye, “the hospital has in existence a dedicated oxygen plant, and presently enjoys the services of a newly donated oxygen plant to the hospital by the Federal Ministry of Health.”

Ajiboye added: “The two plants have the capacities to churn out the needed units of oxygen for all her patients as the hospital now produces its oxygen internally, unhindered with 20 hours uninterrupted power supply.”

The cheering news was preceded by the supply of a minimum of 20 hours electricity to all sections of the hospital following a shift to a more viable power feeder station. Ajiboye said the development would bolster services at the hospital.

She disclosed that the UITH management, disturbed by the incessant power outage in its facilities, had to connect to a dedicated line from Ibadan Electricity with a viable step down in a sub power station.
