To further increase insurance penetration through motor insurance policy coverage, AXA Mansard has assured policyholders of rebates on procurement of third-party and comprehensive schemes in the country.

To get this done, AXA Mansard, an insurance firm, unveiled a new promo tagged: ‘Awoof Xtra and Double Double’ in Lagos.
The underwriter said the incentives include a free fire insurance package on the comprehensive motor policy under the ‘Double Double’promo, which can cover household items or the house itself or both, depending on the choice of the owner.

Similarly, in the ‘Awoof Xtra’ promo, the firm said there are instant gift items, such as; mobile phones, gift vouchers, airtime, and so on, to be redeemed upon purchase of a third-party motor insurance policy, which is at a fixed price of N15, 000.
While this is a new initiative in the insurance sector aimed at deepening insurance acceptance in the country as the two promos are expected to run from now till the end of the year, in the first instance, after which AXA Mansard would assess the situation with a strong determination to continue the initiative beyond this year.

With 12 million registered vehicles in Nigeria of which about a paltry 3.5 million were adequately insured, a whopping 8.5 million vehicles are uninsured, a gap that the new initiatives are trying to address.

Speaking at the program, the Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard, Kunle Ahmed, said, while the ‘Awoof Xtra’ promo is for a third-party motor insurance policy, the ‘Double Double’ promo is for a comprehensive policy.

In the two promos, he noted the objective is to drive insurance acceptance, especially, on motor insurance, such that policyholders get value for money.
He said, with the tough economic situation Nigerians are passing through, which is leading to less disposable income, that’s the reason the insurer is giving free additional fire insurance coverage for every comprehensive motor policy purchased through any of its platforms.

Promising that the company will not compromise standard despite the promo, he said, “AXA Mansard always rely on feedback mechanisms to come out with any initiative as it is a company devoted to meeting the needs of its customers.

“In situations where the premium is fixed such as motor insurance, we always give back to loyal customers, which is what we are doing through the initiative.”

In the same vein, the Chief Customer and Marketing Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance, Jumoke Odunlami, said the promo will address the need of insurance consumers, drives insurance awareness and penetration, especially, motor insurance, saying that, interested persons can purchase or renew their third party or comprehensive insurance policy through any of its channels, such as its website, using its scratch card, debit card or through any of its advisors.

“For third-party motor policy, you can get an instant gift if you procure your policy through AXA Mansard. The process is: purchase the scratch card; scratch the redeem gift panel at the back of the card to redeem your gift instantly; visit our website using your debit or scratch card for purchase; complete the displayed 3rd party motor insurance form and you can claim your instant gift; which could be a mobile phone, gift voucher, airtime and so on. Here, everybody is a winner.”

On comprehensive motor insurance, she said, motorists who purchase fresh or renew their existing policy between now and the end of the year will automatically have additional free fire insurance coverage and will be presented with the certificate upon completion of the motor policy form and providing the necessary information to initiate the free fire policy.

Similarly, the Chief Client Officer of the underwriting firm, Rashidat Adebisi, said, the promo was a response to feedback it got from its customers as well as a response to the current economic reality, being a proactive insurer that has the satisfaction of its policyholders at heart.
