UniAbuja to recruit Int’l students at worldview education fairs in Kenya

In a groundbreaking development for Nigerian higher education, the University of Abuja has embarked on a historic journey to actively recruit international students at the esteemed Worldview Education Fairs in Nairobi, Kenya.

This unprecedented move marks a significant milestone in the university’s efforts to increase international students at the university; foster global partnerships and expand its international reach.

The University of Abuja’s participation in the Worldview Education Fairs represents a bold step forward in its commitment to promoting cross-cultural exchange and diversity within its academic community.

By engaging with prospective students from Kenya and beyond, the university aims to showcase its world-class programs and facilities, offering an enriching educational experience to students from diverse backgrounds.


In addition to its participation in the Worldview Education Fairs, the University of Abuja has taken a leadership role in spearheading the Study in Nigeria initiative.

Conceived by the founder of Findadmission.com and Chief Executive Officer of Worldview International Group, Mr. Folabi Obembe, the initiative seeks to position Nigeria as a premier destination for international students seeking quality higher education opportunities within Africa.

Obembe’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing education in Nigeria have been instrumental in driving the Study in Nigeria initiative forward.

As part of this initiative, Obembe has pledged N1million scholarship fund to support the recruitment of international students to the University of Abuja and will launched a crowdfunding scholarship fund that would see the university of Abuja alumni and international education community contribute to the scholarship fund that would see more students from the continent of Africa study at the University of Abuja.

The Study in Nigeria initiative aims to showcase the diverse academic offerings and cultural richness of Nigerian universities, encouraging students from across the continent and beyond to consider Nigeria as their study destination of choice.

Through strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts, the initiative seeks to elevate Nigeria’s profile in the global education landscape and attract top talent from around the world.

When asked “why Nigeria,” Obembe responded by highlighting the significance of a robust educational foundation.

He said despite the prevalent negative perceptions about Nigeria’s education system from both local students and the international community, there are valuable opportunity for Nigerian institutions to showcase their strengths across Africa and beyond.

Obembe emphasised that Nigerian students have consistently excelled on a global scale, a testament to the strong educational groundwork laid by the country.

He stressed the importance of embracing Nigeria’s unique qualities, including its status as the largest economy in Africa, its academic excellence, diverse cultural heritage, resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial spirit.

He believes that these attributes are valuable assets that Nigeria can offer to the rest of Africa.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor- Academics, of the University of Abuja, Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi, said: “We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this historic initiative to recruit international students and promote Nigeria as a leading study destination.

She said the University of Abuja’s groundbreaking efforts to recruit international students and champion the Study in Nigeria initiative underscore its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Maikudi stated that as the university continues to forge ahead on its path of innovation and excellence, it remains dedicated to providing students with unparalleled educational experiences and preparing them for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
