UNILORIN expels student for collecting ransom on missing colleague

The management of the University of Ilorin has expelled a 100-Level student for allegedly demanding money from the parents of his missing colleague as ransom.

According to information in the weekly bulletin of the university, signed by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, the student was identified as Olanrewaju Abdulkabir Abdulkadri.
 
The expelled student, with matriculation number 22/52HL004 was in the department of Information Technology and Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.
 
Also, the university rusticated a 400-Level student, Segun Micheal Oyewole, for beating and manhandling another female student. Oyewole, who was rusticated for one academic session, was from the department of Counsellor Education, faculty of Education of the university.
