Uzodimma kick-starts, fulfills second term pledge with rural infrastructure, road projects, others

Rural development, road and other infrastructure projects promised by the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, commenced in full swing, at the weekend.

Uzodimma, during his second term inauguration, January 15, pledged that his second term would witness massive rural roads projects to ensure rural-centred development in the over 640 autonomous communities in the 27 local councils of the state.


Reconstruction work on 8.4 kilometre road, and 2.7 kilometre spur, MCC, Toronto/Uratta/Uzoagba Road from Owerri, linking the communities, have begun.

According to a statement issued, yesterday, by the Hope New and Electronic Media Centre, stated that the aim of the execution of the ambitious projects was to ensure inter-connectivity of the rural areas to other parts of the state, stressing: “The reconstruction of the MCC Toronto/Uratta/Uzoagba Road under the Uzodimma administration marks a significant milestone in addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges in the state.”
