VC warns new students against malpractices

The Vice-Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan, Prof. Timothy Adejumo, has warned the newly admitted students of the institution against misconduct, saying the school would not hesitate to sanction anyone found culpable.

Adejumo, who read the riot act at the matriculation ceremony for the 121 freshers for the 2023/2024 academic session, also reminded them of their role as leaders of tomorrow.

He stated that the institution has zero tolerance for indiscipline, misconduct, and all forms of examination malpractice, urging them to be a better version of themselves going forward.

“You must not do anything that would disturb the peace of the institution; resist peer pressure influence that may truncate your journey, shun social vices, and embrace peace and harmony,” Adejumo said.

While restating the university’s commitment to positively impact its students, Adejumo added that PCU would continue to develop and expand its infrastructure to meet 21st-century challenges.

The VC solicited the support of students, parents, and guardians in making the school a unique institution of choice.

A consultant psychiatrist at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Dr Bibilola Oladeji, in her lecture titled: “Escape from the prison called drugs,” warned on the dangers of drug abuse.

She said it is better not to be an addict than to escape from the prison of addiction.
