WAEC releases timetable for May/June SSCE

• NECO postpones exam over poor enrollment

West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the timetable for the 2024 May/June SSCE examination in Nigeria. The exams will commence on Tuesday, April 30 with Foods and Nutrition, and Home Management.

 
This was contained in a document issued by WAEC via its X handle (formerly known as Twitter) @waecnigeria. According to WAEC, candidates for the regional examination will sit for English Language on Wednesday, May 15, 2024; while English Language 2 (Essay), English for Language 1 (Objective) and English Language 3 (Test of Orals) will also hold the same day, among others. 
 
There will be no examination from Monday, June 17, 2024, to Wednesday, June 19 due to public holidays to observe Eid-al-Adha.

MEANWHILE, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has re-scheduled the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination into Federal Unity Colleges and Federal Government Academy, Suleja,
 
A statement by the Acting Director, Directorate of Information and Digital Communication of NECO, Azeez Sani, yesterday, said the examination, which was earlier scheduled to hold on April 20, would now hold on June 1.
 
Also, the Entrance Examination for Gifted and Talented Children into Federal Government Academy, Suleja earlier scheduled to hold on May 4 will now hold on May 25.

The statement blamed the rescheduling of the two examinations on low enrolment of candidates.
 
“All candidates, parents, guardians, schools and relevant stakeholders are therefore enjoined to take note of the new dates for the examinations.“The registration of candidates will continue till the new dates for the examinations”, the statement read.
