Warri Boys Association to raise N1bn for societal needs

Committed to impacting lives, the Warri Boys Association (WBA), yesterday, unveiled N1 billion appeal fundraising campaign to address the societal needs of residents of Warri.


The project, which is aimed at building a multipurpose complex, underscored the association’s commitment to empowering individuals and addressing pressing societal issues.

Speaking at the launching held in Lagos, the Chairman of the event, Otunba Rotimi Olugbemiga, emphasised the association’s mission to equip individuals with the tools needed to thrive.

He said: “The proposed multipurpose complex aims to serve as a skill acquisition centre, providing opportunities for individuals to unleash their full potential through education and training.”

Highlighting the multifaceted approach of the project, he mentioned that the initiative includes plans to establish a drug rehabilitation centre to address substance abuse issues plaguing society.

According to Olugbemiga, the centre will offer a sanctuary of hope and support for those battling addiction, reflecting the association’s dedication to community welfare.

He added that the association recognised the importance of education, and reintegration of out-of-school children back into classrooms through its Back to School Unit.
