We must invest in basic education – Ogege

Founder and CEO of Rossette foundation Mr Daniel Ogege has decried the continued degenerating state of basic education in Nigeria and the non availability of materials for efficient learning. Speaking to newsmen at the maiden edition of the Rossette foundation free Book Distribution Outreach in Delta State Recently, Ogege said investing in education is the key to Nation building and Human Capital development. He also sighted insecurity, poverty and corruption as Challenges affecting delivery of proper basic education in the Country.


During The Free Book Distribution Outreach that saw to the Distribution of over 50 thousand note books to primary schools across Delta State, Ogege noticed that some of the schools lacked adequate pipe-borne water, learning materials and insecurity is on the increase. ” If we must grow as a nation, we must invest in basic education because it holds the key to self awareness and consciousness. That is why Rossette foundation has organized this free Book Distribution Outreach to distribute over 50 thousand note books to the very indigent population of Delta State and in the course of this Outreach, we have also noticed that poverty, insecurity and corruption are major contributors to the degenerating state of basic education. Like one of the schools we visited, the Head Mistress complained about their challenges. Hence, we are calling on well meaning Nigerians, Community leaders and government to quickly nip the situation. ” He Said.

Head Mistress of Another school visited, Mrs Obruche Bridget of Egbesinede Primary School Ohoro, Mrs thanked the foundation for the kind gesture and prayed that God will continue to increase the foundation. In her words ” I prayed this morning before coming to the school that God should send us help and help truly came. I thank you for this kind gesture and for making yourself available for God to bless Humanity.”
