Well-developed personality, human elements key to growth, says VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Lead City University (LCU), Prof. Kabir Adeyemo, said a well-developed personality and human elements are critical to the growth of the country.

Adeyemo maintained that the country’s progress hinges not only on economic policies and infrastructural development but also on the human elements and relationships that fuel growth.

Adeyemo stated this during the Corporate Charisma Conference and Award organised by the Institute of Personnel Development and Customer Relationship Management (IPDCRM) in Ibadan.


The programme saw the delivery of thought-provoking lectures from some professionals as well as the induction of new members and fellows into IPDCRM.

The Vice-Chancellor urged the inductees to deploy their skills in shaping personalities that would drive Nigeria’s economic resurgence.

He said: “Our nation’s progress hinges not only on economic policies and infrastructural advancements but equally on the human elements that fuel growth – personalities and relationships.

“In the dynamic landscape of modern business, the significance of a well-developed personality cannot be overstated. It serves as the bedrock upon which successful leaders build their empires. A strong personality is not just about charisma; it encompasses resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

“As members of this esteemed institute, you are entrusted with the task of shaping personalities that will drive Nigeria’s economic resurgence.”

The professor pointed out that the heartbeat of thriving economies lies in the symbiotic relationship between businesses and their customers.

He stressed that a comprehensive business strategy combines the elements to foster economic renewal and contribute to sustainable development.

The don urged the inductees to uphold the tenets of transparency, accountability and integrity as they foster the development of the institute and bring positive impact to national development.

Also speaking, President of IPDCRM, Dr Ayobami Owolabi, said personality development must be given priority. He charged the new inductees to be worthy ambassadors of the Institute wherever they find themselves.
