Veteran Nollywood cum Kannywood actor, Dr. Ali Nuhu, has pledged to fast track the growth of Nigeria’s film industry to be predicated on commitment, vigor and determination. He made the pledge shortly after he assumed office as the new and seventh MD/CEO of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC).


Speaking at the handover ceremony on Tuesday, March 12, witnessed by stakeholders in the film industry, NFC management and staff, as well as top government officials at its headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, Nuhu pledged to deploy his vast experiences in further shaping the vibrant tapestry of the Nigerian film industry.

He vowed to enhance training efforts, emphasising that this approach would foster talent development and elevate professionalism, even as he was emphatic about the expectations of the Federal Government, film and other stakeholders and Nigerians on the role the agency should play within the national and global creative ecosystem notwithstanding the weighty responsibilities and mandate.


The new NFC MD/CEO expressed his determination in steering the Corporation towards unprecedented excellence in service delivery that will be timely, beneficial, measurable, sustainable and impactful.

He stated that the task of harnessing the potentials of Nigeria’s creative sector, particularly the realm of filmmaking, to advance the objectives and policies of the federal govern

ment in fostering national growth will be driven on the wheels of NFC’s service charter of “powering possibilities”.

“I will ensure formulation and implementation of robust film industry policies and regulatory frameworks; upscale training and capacity-building initiatives to nurture talent and enhance professionalism; spearhead the development of film production infrastructure to boost growth and ensure competitiveness in the industry,” he said.
