What God has determined shall be done

The “image” and “likeness of God” is in a spiritual form .

Isaiah 43:10-13, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.11: I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.12: I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.13: Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it”?

Where the word of the King is, there is power. The statement of every king is law in his domain and it has to be carried out with executive fiat. God is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords; heaven and earth are His domain. He is in total control of the earth. He is the creator of both heaven and earth and everything therein. Though the earth is given to man to manage, God is still in control. There is no disobedience or failure in God’s dictionary. When He proposes any event it will be executed to the last letter. God speaks and issues orders with authority. The Roman Centurion told our Lord Jesus Christ that he is a man under authority and whatever order he issues to his servants must be carried out; then Jesus Christ does not need to come under his roof before healing his sick servant, rather He should issue an order and His servant will be healed.

In the same vein, God the Almighty has the capacity to do whatsoever He wants to do, hence Isaiah 46:9-11 says: “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me. 10: Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. 11: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

God’s resources are unlimited; He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, and by all standards He is unlimited. This is the reason failure is not in His dictionary. It is as a result of limitations that failure creeps into the ventures of man.

God was pleased by the obedient and humble nature of Abraham; hence after entertaining angels God made a promise of a child to him. At that time Abraham and his wife were far above child bearing age, but because God was determined to give them a child according to Genesis 18:9-14, the angel said: “And they said unto him, where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, behold, in the tent.10: And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.11: Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.12: Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, after I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? 13: And the Lord said unto Abraham, wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14: Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

God, Himself, created man and gave him the power of procreation, but at a certain old age in life called menopause a woman will stop bearing children. It has been so, even, Sarah knew this fact hence she doubted herself giving birth to a child for Abraham, but God, himself, was determined that in time of necessity, rules and regulations will be set aside. So, Sarah entering the age of menopause did not hold water when God took a decision she would bear a child for Abraham.

In the lead scripture, God was emphatic that He has no challenger to constitute a hindrance to whatever He plans to do. He is God of all. He created all and has control over everything in heaven and earth. He does not renege in His promise. As He spoke to Abraham about giving him a child, the fulfillment of the promise came some years later as Bible reports in Genesis 21:1-5 saying: “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2: For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3: And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. 4: And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5: And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.”

The birth of Isaac is fulfillment of divine determination. The child Isaac is symbolic in four fold ways: (1) of the church as composed of the spiritual children of Abraham (Gal.4: 28); (2) of Christ as obedient unto death (Gen 21:1-10); (3) of Christ as the bridegroom of a called out bride. The word Church derived from the Greek word ‘ekklesia’ meaning to call out is used for any assembly of people called out for a special purpose. And (4) of the new nature of the believers as born after the spirit (Gal.4: 29). God made a statement that the children of Abraham will be as numerous as stars on the sky and as sand on the seashore. Based on that divine determination, the entire people living in the present Middle East are all children of Abraham. Then all the Christians are the spiritual children of Abraham. These are made possible according to God’s plan. When the gospel of Jesus Christ started the Jews mounted stiff opposition, but today the name of Jesus Christ is being called everywhere on earth. Jesus Christ, himself, declared that the Kingdom of God will not prevail against it as the Bible reports in Matthew 16: 16-18: “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God. 17: And Jesus answered and said unto him, blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father, which is in heaven. 18: And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The Devil is fighting against the gospel of Jesus Christ and everything about God, but the gospel of Christ is moving on, things of God are going on according to the God’s plan. Whatever God has destined that you will become will surely come to pass; the Devil and his agents will fight, but they will fail.

As you attend this programme make up your mind what you want from God and faithfully put it in prayer, God will bring it to pass and the Devil will be put to shame. God is determined to bless and favour you that is why the Bible is clear in Jeremiah 29:11 saying: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

In this crusade, God will grant you that, which had been your expectations. He has proved the gates of hell will never hinder His plans for you. Be faithful and the determined God will bring to pass whatever He has determined in your life.
