When you are afraid, remember empty tomb that Jesus is alive — Nwaobia

Rev. Isaac Nwaobia

ARCHBISHOP of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop, Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Reverend Isaac Chijioke Nwaobia, has urged Christians to show appreciation to God for another opportunity to celebrate Easter, saying that God’s love for Nigerians had been demonstrated by giving His only son to mankind as a ransom for man’s release from the power of sin and everlasting death.

Admonishing the faithful and Nigerians not to be afraid, but to believe the reality of Christ’s resurrection and the joy it brings, Nwaobia said: “When you are afraid, remember the empty tomb because he has risen. Jesus is not dead and is not to be looked for among the dead. He is alive, with his people. The resurrection of Christ is a historical fact.”

The Archbishop who described Christ’s resurrection as key to the Christian faith, enjoined Christians to anchor their faith on it, and also use the opportunity to spread the joy of the resurrection. He added that Jesus rose from the dead and therefore, there is need to be confident that he will also accomplish everything else he has promised.

Nwaobia said: “Jesus rose from the dead. We can be confident that he will also accomplish everything else he has promised. This is, thus, a clarion call to the Christian faithful in Nigeria to remain resolute to their faith knowing that the power that brought Jesus back to life is available to us and same will bring every spiritual, economic and political problems back to life.

“The resurrection is an invitation to receive what Christ has accomplished for us. His offer of eternal life is a gift that must be received. He is still knocking at the door of many people’s hearts, do not allow the pleasure of this world such as money, security, material possessions make you indifferent to God’s offer of salvation.”
