The family of Omoosumi Tobiloba Samuel popularly known as Tobywood are still in confusion state as he has been missing for a week.

Tobywood, a furniture maker went missing on Wednesday February 7, 2024 in Gbagada area of Lagos State.

24-year-old Tobywood is 5’9 in height, chocolate in colour, a bit chubby


Speaking with The Guardian, one of his friends simply known as Abitayo popularly called Onion Cider, she said: “His brother styles my hair so I know him. His brother got back from work and didn’t see him at home and then he thought he was with his best friend called Hassan. He some time spend the night in Hassan’s house. His brother called Hassan and Hassan said he didn’t hear from him.

“Tobi always speaks about football on Twitter (X) and post on his Snapchat but we noticed that he didn’t do any of that so, that is where everybody started to get agitated about him.

“I suggested that we should contact his bank because he uses Kuda Micro Finance Bank and Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and ask for his transaction history so that we can know the last place he carried out transaction.

When asked if she’s aware of any threat on him, she said: “I am not aware of any threat. He’s not a critic of the government.

When The Guardian reached out to his brother, Pelumi Omoosumie said: “He has never complained of any threat and we are not suspecting anyone.

He added: “We are yet to get any call since he went missing, no one has demanded for ransom. We have been trying to get information about him alongside his friend

“We reported at the Ifako Police Station, we have been to Hospitals and other places to look for him. We asked his girlfriend but she doesn’t know his whereabouts

The Guardian also reached out to his friend, Hassan Adesina who said the young man is a nice person who doesn’t drag issues with anyone.

“The last time I saw him was Tuesday, February 6, 2024 and he has never complained of any threat, he doesn’t have anything troubling around him.

“Tobi takes life issue. I am yet to get any call regarding him, we have asked questioned and the only thing left is to get his bank statement to see if any transaction ever happened since he went missing.

Speaking with The Guardian, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said: “The matter was reported at the Ifako Police Division of the Lagos State Police Command and we have commenced investigation into his disappearance.

“We are also appealing to everyone with useful information on how to locate him should reach out to any of our divisions.
