Why Kogi state must not be left in the hands of a mediocre Governor, by Sani

Ahead of the Kogi state governorship poll in November, the National Chairman, of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Engr. Yabagi Sani has admonished the electorates in the state not to elect an inexperienced and mediocre person.

Speaking while presenting the certificate of return to the party flag bearer, Dr Julius Elukpo, he said it behoves the electorates to make sure that Kogi state is administered by the best hands.

Sani expressed optimism that through the instrumentality of Elukpo, ADP will dislodge what he termed “the clueless and banal administration of the APC that has ruined the state the last eight years.”

Said he: “A state endowed with very vital natural and human resources should not be left in the hands of half-measured academic capacities. Chief Elukpo is the brain that Kogi State needs now.

“Kogi State fondly called the Confluence State, is on our mind. Those of you that are conversant with history will recall that it was the gateway to the western civilisation of the Niger Area and the CapitaI City of Iron and Steel.

“Apart from being a gateway in the old and pre-colonial days, the state is today the link between the northern and southern parts of our dear country. It, therefore, occupies a strategic place and should be administered by the best of hands, such as I present to you today.”

Elukpo said he would consolidate on the performance of the outgoing Governor of the state Yahaya Bello to lift the state to enviable heights in the country.

Elukpo who was chairman of the Kogi elders council particularly referred to the human, agricultural and mineral resources in the state as areas he would exploit to reposition the state if voted into power.

He also pledged to unite the ethnic nationalities in the state which fell under Kabba region which was part of the integral part of the old northern region when the late Sir Ahmadu Bello held sway in the first republic.
