The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of the 
Chairman of Progressive ASUU at COOU, Prof. Osita Chiaghanam, who spoke with The Guardian at the campus, yesterday, accused the factional Chairman of the institution, Prof. Okey Aniebo, of pursuing a selfish agenda, which will not be in the best interest of most members.
Aniebo said while there was the need to show solidarity with the national leadership of ASUU on joining the strike, ASUU in COOU was not adversely affected by the demands of the National Executive Council (NEC), but would disrupt academic activities if it joined the strike.
But Chaighanam condemned the attitude of the Aniebo-led ASUU to embark on a campaign of calumny against the Vice-Chancellor of the University, who, according to him, had lifted the institution, increased the number of professors from 35 to 200 and completed several abandoned projects he inherited from the previous management of the institution.
