Chairman of WIC, Prof. Anthony Ejiofor and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Basil Onwukwe, stated this in its New Year message in which it wished Ndigbo and the global WIC family a happy and prosperous 2022.
In a statement issued, yesterday, and made available to The Guardian, it said: “Looking back to 2021, we thank God for the great strides we made, which have been documented and shared with affiliates.
“This year, we will continue to facilitate the political solution to the danger at home and free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, de-proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), stop the killings in Igbo land, as well as end the anarchy and brigandage in Imo State.”
The group also hinted that it would expand the activities of WIC to interface with other entities and ethnic nationalities that believe in the emancipation of the oppressed and inalienable rights to self-determination, as well as consolidate and extend the gains of expansion.
“We plan and deliver a unique convention in Austin, Texas, hoping that God will stop the COVID-19 pandemic so that the Igbo would experience a successful convention
“WIC will also launch the Igbo Tech Hub project in the first quarter of 2022.
We, therefore, call all affiliates, committees and people to make a New Year resolution to fully engage,” it added.
The group prayed to God to take away ill health, untimely death and financial misfortunes from the South East in 2022 and beyond, stressing that Ndigbo should embrace the spirit of unity and oneness.
