Pelumi Nubi, the adventurous traveler driving from London to Lagos, encountered a severe setback after being involved in a car accident in Liberia.

The incident occurred just 24 hours after her arrival in the country, marking a sudden pause to her ambitious journey.

Pelumi, who embarked on her road trip on January 31, 2024, has been documenting her travels on social media, sharing both the highs and lows of her solo expedition.

Her vehicle, affectionately named ‘Oluwa Lumi’ meaning ‘the lord lights my path’, became a symbol of her determination and spirit.

The accident’s details emerged through a post on Instagram with the caption “Say a prayer for me”, where Nubi shared images of the damaged car, scenes from inside the ambulance, and her time in the hospital.

Prior to the accident, Nubi faced numerous challenges, including a 24-hour hold at the Liberian border and being denied entry to Sierra Leone the previous week. These hurdles had already pushed back her planned return home from March 23 to April 7, 2024.
