X Blocks Searches For Taylor Swift Amidst Explicit Images

The social media platform X has temporarily restricted searches for Taylor Swift. This new development comes after a circulation of fake explicit sexual images.

Due to this fans and users attempting to search for Swift on the platform received error messages that said “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”

In a statement, X’s Head of Business Operations, Joe Benarroch, cited the move as a precautionary measure for user safety.

According to York Times report, the image of Swift shared on X was viewed 47 million times before the account was suspended and has also caught the attention from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who highlighted the alarming impact of false images on social media, particularly affecting women.

The restriction comes amidst concerns about content moderation policies, with Elon Musk’s influence on the platform being scrutinized. The action precedes an NFL playoff game, where Swift, dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is expected to attend.
