• Airhiavbere picks APC expression of interest, nomination form

Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, yesterday, chided an APC guber aspirant in the forthcoming governorship election, OsagieIze-Iyamu to take responsibility and stop being economical with the truth as it concerns the development of the state.

This was contained in an open letter made available to newsmen, signed by Nehikhare but addressed to OsagieIze-Iyamu over unfounded allegations against the Edo State government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Nehikhare, who described as shocking Ize-Iyamu allegations of marginalisation and the under-development of Orhionmwon Local Council, said Obaseki has taken bold steps to address the issue in the state by opening up the space for more actors to provide electricity among others developmental projects.

He said it is not only disappointing, but a fact that Orhionmwon Local Council has been unlucky over the years with the quality of leadership it has been saddled with over the years with the likes of Ize-Iyamu among others, who were in successive governments in the state without anything to his credit or to point at in Orhionmwon Local Council, where he hails from.

Meanwhile, members of the Charles EhigieAirhiavbere Campaign Organisation, yesterday, purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) to contest the forthcoming governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state.

The organisation’s representative led by Prince Charles Nwala, Zonal Coordinator, South-South APC and Daniel Ighile picked the forms for Airhiavbere, who is the immediate past Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The National Organising Secretary of the APC, Dr. Suleiman Muhammad Argungun OFR, handed over the forms to the organisation’s representatives led by Prince Charles Nwala, Zonal Coordinator, South-South APC, and Daniel Ighile. Others were ObiorahUbah, Deputy Coordinator, Delta State as well as Professor Yusuf Alhassan, Felix Atsegbua, EseOvie and amidst cheers.

Speaking to newsmen after collecting the forms, Nwala said:”It is the turn of General Charles to try and become the Ẹdo State governor because he has a comprehensive vision for Edo called PIE. This PIE hinges on the three pillars of Peace, Infrastructural Development, and Economic prosperity, which has eluded the state in the last seven years.”
