It’s another week with your favourite gist partner, Guardian Life. We are excited to dish out glue-bound stories to keep you entertained throughout the week.

This week’s catch up captures celebrities such as Enioluwa, Davido, Taylor Swift and Pope Francis, and how they tell their unique stories to the world.

Enioluwa Adeoluwa Speaks On Academics, Relationship
In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’, popular social media influencer, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, also known as ‘The Lip Gloss Guy,’ addressed rumours surrounding his romantic life. Despite speculations linking him to actress Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla, and Chef Hilda Baci, Enioluwa said he is currently unattached and disinterested in romantic relationships. Instead, he emphasised his dedication to academic pursuits, revealing his commitment to a recently embarked-upon Ph.D. journey.

Pope Francis Clarifies His Decision On Same-Sex Union
In an interview with a newspaper, Pope Francis addressed criticism regarding his decision to permit blessings for same-sex couples, expressing confidence that understanding and acceptance will evolve over time. While acknowledging vehement protests from small ideological groups, the Pope emphasised the church’s commitment to inclusivity, referring to the ‘Fiducia Supplicans’ declaration by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. This declaration encourages welcoming and entrusting individuals to God, aiming to foster inclusion rather than division.

Despite concerns about potential church division, the Pope urged a focus on moving forward and dismissed small groups with schismatic tendencies. The Vatican clarified that these blessings should not be part of regular church ceremonies or connected to civil unions or weddings, maintaining its traditional stance on marriage between a man and a woman.

Davido Sells Out O2 Arena For The Third Time
Nigerian music sensation, Davido, achieved a triumphant return to the O2 Arena with his acclaimed ‘Timeless Tour’, marking his third consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic venue. On January 28, 2024, Davido delivered an electrifying performance, showcasing his musical prowess and stage charisma with a medley of chart-topping hits from his Grammy-nominated fourth album, ‘Timeless.’ This achievement follows his historic 2019 feat, as the first Nigerian solo artist to sell out the O2 Arena and a repeated success in 2022.

The ‘Timeless Concert’ featured special collaborations, including a performance of ‘Picasso’ with DMW signee, Logos Olori, a rendition of ‘The Best’ with Mayorkun, and a surprise appearance by Kizz Daniel for an unforgettable rendition of their recent collaboration ‘Twe Twe.’ The anticipation is high as Davido aims for his first-ever Grammy wins.

Taylor Swift Maybe Absent At The Grammy Despite Nomination
Six-time Grammy nominee Taylor Swift will be notably absent from the 2024 Grammy Awards on February 4, despite her nominations in prestigious categories like Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Entertainment Tonight revealed that Swift’s absence is attributed to her upcoming Eras Tour, scheduled to resume just three days after the Grammy Awards, starting in Tokyo on February 7. The logistical challenges and Swift’s tight schedule make it impractical for her to transition from the Grammy stage to her world tour, especially considering the 17-hour time difference between Tokyo and Los Angeles.
