Sisi Quadri Dies at 44
The Yoruba actor, Muktar Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri died at the age of forty-four years in Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital. This was made known to the press by his brother who was there at the point of his death. The brother of the late famous comic actor Tolani Oyebamiji, known as Sisi Quadri, has revealed how he died. “It wasn’t a serious ailment, and when we got to LAUTECH, he got out of the car and walked with his legs.” Following the Muslim Rites, the late actor who died on Friday was laid to rest in his hometown in Agbowo Area of Iwo, Osun State.

Anikulapo Stars Continue In Their Fathers Footprints
“Anikulapo”, a series produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, is a captivating film that pays homage to the legendary Nigerian theatre icon, Hubert Ogunde, while showcasing the remarkable talents of Yoruba actors who have decided to follow the paths of their fathers such as Owo Ogunde (Bashorun) and Eyiyemi Afolayan, Kunle Afolayan’s daughter. There is no recounting of the history of Nigerian film and the Yoruba theatre without making mention of Hubert Ogunde, popularly recognised as the father of Yoruba theatre; and his son, Owo Ogunde has decided to follow his path and to keep the name alive. Same goes for Eyiyemi, whose grandfather, Adeyemi Afolayan, was also a well-known actor of his time. Little wonder these actors have mastered the act of bringing bare stories to life to keep people glued to the great series.
