Yuletide: Rotary Ikorodu Metro donates food, medicare to orphanage home

The Rotary Club of Ikorodu Metro District 9110 has donated food and medicare items to House of Chleo Orphanage, Ipakodo Ebute, Ikorodu, in a bid to spread love during Yuletide.

It also organised a free medical outreach.

Members of the club visited the home and donated food items, which included: bags of 50kg rice, vegetable oil, live chickens, cartons of biscuit, cartons of yoghurt, a carton of sachet milk, cartons of noodles, loaves of bread, and packs of soft drink.


The medicare items included: rolls of tissue paper, infant diapers, packs of cotton wool, packs of antimalarial drugs, packs of gascol, packs of multivitamin syrup, packs of Zoltrim suspension, packs of B complex syrup, packs of Fitulin cough syrup, bottles of methylated spirit, insecticide treated mosquito nets, vitamin C, sanitary pads, and packs of liquid hand wash.

A club member, Olubayo Ojo, offered his hospital as a venue for the free medical outreach.

President of the club, Idris Seyi Ashamu, said the donation was the club’s way of assisting the less privileged and making the world a better place for everyone.

He said the project is in tandem with one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus, which is disease prevention and control.

Responding, a member of the board of directors, Otusheso Mogbonjubola, thanked the club for visiting and celebrating the Yuletide season with the home and donating the items.
