All-share index appreciates by 0.4 per cent

Following price gains recorded by major bluechip companies, transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed in an upbeat mood causing the All-share index to appreciate by 0.4 per cent.

Yesterday, Seven-Up topped the gainers chart with 11.01 kobo to close at N127.99 per share. Mobil followed with 8.13 kobo to close at N170.78 per share. Dangote cement added 2.00 kobo to close at N175.5 per share. Nigerian Breweries gained 1.73 per share.

Presco appreciated by 1.01kobo to close at N41.5 per share.Nigerian Aviation Handling Company gained 0.27 kobo to close at N3.50 per share. Guaranty Trust Bank added 0.15 kobo to close at N26.10 per share.

Ecobank TransNational Incorporated garnered 0.15 kobo to close at N11.50 per share. National Salt Caompany of Nigeria gained 0.10 kobo to close at N8.00 per share. Custiodian&Allied Insurance also added 0.04 to close at N3.95 per share.

However, Nestle topped the losers chart with 8.85 kobo to close at N816.15 per share. FO followed with 2.00 kobo to close at N175.00 per share. Conoil lost 1.08 kobo to close at N20.57 per share.

Unilever shed 0.75 kobo to close at N39.00 per share. Zenith Bank dropped 0.35 kobo to close at N14.95 per share. United Bank for Africa lost 0.11 per cent to close at N4.34 per share. African Prudential shed 0.10 kobo to close at N2.55 per share. Oando dropped 0.09 kobo to close at N4.89 per share. Champion Breweries also dropped 0.09 kobo to close at N2.61 per share.

Consequently, market capitalisation appreciated by N43 billion or 0.4 per cent from N9,399 trillion recorded on Monday to N9,442 trillion while the All-share index rose by 125.00 points, 0r 0.4 per cent from 27,368.41 to 27,493.12.
