The president of Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON) Dr. Ona Ekhomu, has been awarded the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) Lifetime Achievement Award 2018 by the United Kingdom-based organisation.

A statement by his aide, Tope Adesuyi, in Lagos, said the Managing Director of the OSPA, Prof Martin Gill, a renowned criminologist at the University of Leicester, personally bestowed the award on Ekhomu in Lagos recently.

Ekhomu, a renowned security expert, was selected from among four nominees for the award, which is the highest award category of the OSPAs, for his leading role in the growth and development of Nigeria’s security industry for the past 30 years.

Ekhomu has been active in industry groups, such as the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International), the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) and the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON), among others.

The OSPA recognises and rewards companies and individuals across the security sector.

Ekhomu dedicated the award to all security professionals in Nigeria who constantly give of themselves to make Nigeria safe for doing business and for living.

He thanked the organisation for extending the prestigious awards to Nigeria, saying the recognition would drive growth and excellence within the security industry in the country.
