Yassin Nor’Isse, Somalia District Commissioner of Wardhigley District, confirmed that several people are feared dead in multiple explosions near the Presidential Palace on Monday in Mogadishu.

Nor’Isse said the incident took place at “15 May School” in Wardhigley district, near the presidential palace.

“I can confirm there were mortar shells which were fired near the presidential palace in Mogadishu.

The official said the initial reports said the explosions caused civilian casualties, but he cannot confirm that for now.
