Family, relatives, church members bid Abiara farewell at commendation service

The final rites began this week for Prophetess Christianah Aduke Abiara, wife of the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Agbala-Itura, Prophet Kayode Abiara with a commendation service witnessed by family members, relatives, ministers and church members.

Delivering a message, the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Matthew Ashimolowo, said: “We are not here to mourn but celebrate our mother, who is celebrating in heaven with the host of angels.”

Prophetess Abiara died on September 3, in Ibadan and will be buried today, at the CAC Agbala Itura, City of Peace, Ibadan. In his tribute, her husband said: “My heartthrob, my wife, confidant, and jewel of inestimable value. I miss you dearly my ministry partner, I say goodnight till we meet in heaven. I love you”.and would continue to love you. Rest in peace, Onitemi.”

Born 70 years ago in Ilesa, Osun State, she is survived by her husband, eight children, grand and great-grand children. Until her death, she was the coordinator of the women ministry and leader of pastors’ wives at all branches of the CAC Agbala Itura worldwide.

The late Abiara had both her primary and secondary education at Okesha, Ilesha, Osun State. She went into trading before she met her husband about 55 years ago. The marriage produced three sets of twins.
