FG constitutes Governing Boards of Federal Polys, Colleges of Education

The federal government yesterday reconstituted the Governing Boards of all the 25 Federal Polytechnics in the country. The Boards are statutorily responsible for the governance and overall policy formulation for the Institutions concerned.

In a statement in Abuja, the Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu also announced the constitution of the Governing Boards of all the Federal Colleges of Educations in the country.

He said all the appointments have received the blessings of President Muahmmadu Buhari

In making the appointments of the Chairpersons and Members of the respective Boards, the President, apart from ensuring geopolitical spread, was also guided by the stipulated requirements for such appointments as contained in each of the Acts establishing the Institutions. In this respect, each of the appointees is required to, among others, posses a minimum of a National Diploma and be a person of impeccable integrity with a strong commitment to technical education.

The affected Polytechnics and their respective Chairmen are as follows, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, Afikpo Ebony State has Dr. J.T. Orkar as Chairman, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi. Edo State has Chief Michael Olanrewaju Oloko, as Chairman, Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti has Chief Austin Adeze as Chairman, Federal Polytechnic, Bali, Taraba State has Mrs. Yalwa Tahir as chairperson, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi has Alhaji Abubakar Dantata as chairman, while Federal Polytechnic, Bida in Niger State has Professor Muhammad Sani Yakya as chairman.

Others include the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe with Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar as chairman, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State with Professor Nasir Yauri, Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe in Bayelsa State has Professor Eddy Olanipekun as chairman, the Federal Polytechnic, Idah Komi State has Dr. Ibrahim Muhd Liman Sifawa as chairman. The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro Ogundele State has Professor Abubakar Ahmed Sadauki as chairman and the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji has Chief Odey Ochicha

The Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State has Professor Kingsley Dakeni Alagoa as chairman, the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State has Engr. Bassey Usang Bassey as chairman, the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nasarawa State has Professor Godwin Sogolo as chairman, the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri has Chief Edwin Ogunbor, the Federal Polytechnic, Offa Kwara State has Chief Osekula Zikora, the Federal Polytechnic, Oko Anambra State has Hon. Chief Lasbury Amadi.

For the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Sen. Ucha Julius was named named chairman, the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana has Professor S. Ike Udabah as chairman while the Hussaini Adamu Fed.
