ICPC tasks FHA staff on transparency, accountability
Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Ekpo Nta has charged the management and staff of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to ensure that their actions are process driven, through assiduous and tenacious compliance to guidelines and extant rules.
Nta, who made the call at the inauguration of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the FHA, said it is imperative for FHA to key into the anti-corruption initiative because of its large stakeholders base and due to the sensitive nature of land and housing.
Represented by the Head of ACTU, Mr Justin Kuatsea, the ICPC chairman observed that ACTU is one of the initiatives of the ICPC directed towards entrenching transparency and accountability.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of FHA, Prof Mohammed Al-Amin expressed his organisation’s readiness to ensure that monies stolen from the nation’s coffers are not channeled to the housing sector.
