Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has addressed what he describes as the biggest misconception about his life and personality.

In a recent interview with Voice of Nigeria, the singer said the most common misunderstanding about him is that he is a “womaniser.”

“The biggest misconception about me is that I am a womaniser,” he said.

Quoting one of his lyrics, he added, “I like woman, I dey straightforward,” before clarifying his stance. According to him, he is simply a “lover boy” who loves deeply.

“But I am a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.

Over the years, 2Baba’s personal life has attracted as much attention as his music career. The award-winning singer has eight children with four different women, a reality that has been public knowledge for years.

His relationships, marriages and family life have frequently been discussed on social media and in the entertainment press, contributing to the label he now says does not accurately reflect who he is.

Most recently, the singer has been at the centre of public debate following online drama involving his current wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Irobosa. Videos circulating online showed the couple in a heated exchange, sparking reactions from fans and industry colleagues.

Natasha and the singer welcomed a child in 2025, weeks before their disagreements became a subject of online discussion.

Before his marriage to Natasha, 2Baba was married to actress Annie Macaulay. Their relationship, which lasted over a decade, was marked by  public ups and downs. The couple share two daughters together and officially separated in 2024 after years of reported marital strain.

Before their separation, both 2Baba and Annie Macaulay appeared on the Netflix reality series, Young, Famous & African, where Annie spoke openly about the strains in their 12-year marriage.

She discussed issues of infidelity and the emotional distress she experienced during the relationship. On the show, Annie reflected on the impact of 2Baba fathering five children with two other women before their marriage, describing the experience as deeply painful and emotionally challenging.

Despite the recurring scrutiny of his personal life, 2Baba’s career achievements remain significant. From his early days with the group Plantashun Boiz to his successful solo career, he has earned multiple awards and maintained relevance in Nigeria’s music industry for over two decades.
