Not less than 80 Kebbi youths were empowered to boost their small-scales entrepreneurship under the Federal Government scheme of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Presenting support to the beneficiaries at the agency’s national headquarters, yesterday, the Director, Policy, advocacy and coordination, Mr. Monday Ewans explained that the gesture was for them to feel the impact of government.

The breakdown, according to Ewans, showed that 40 youths across Gwandu emirate and another 40 from Argungu emirate are to benefit from the first phase of the programme, while the sum of N40,000 would be given to them to boost their small businesses.

Ewans explained that the agency is working in collaboration with the state government to ensure complete success of the programme. He added that only Kebbi and Anambra states have so far been selected for the programme, while others would follow suit.
