Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has warned the youths against taking illicit drugs.

He gave the warning at the weekend, at the J.S. Tarka Stadium in Gboko, during thanks giving prayers to mark the one-year anniversary of the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse.

Ortom said the warning was necessary to safeguard the youths’ future in the interest of a better society.

The governor advised them to return to God because he is the one who has the solution to every man’s predicaments.

He stressed that taking drugs would destroy their future, and lauded the initiative of the Tor Tiv in starting a foundation to enhance the wealth of the Tiv Nation.

He also advised politicians against playing politics of bitterness, because it breeds anarchy, chaos and rancour among other terrible vices.
