The yearly highly anticipated Indomie Independence Day Award for Heroes of Nigeria (IIDA) has commenced the search process to fish out uncommon heroes, who have gone out of their way to do something extraordinary in spite of limitations and barriers.

The CSR initiative by Dufil Prima Foods Plc., makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, is targeted at identifying, recognising and rewarding Nigerian children for their unique acts of bravery.

The search exercise will explore various locations in the country to gather true stories about heroic children who are 15 years and below, who have at one time or the other performed exceptional acts of bravery and heroism.

This year, two search agencies – Mark Analytics & Research Services Ltd. and BenahGrace Research Agency, have been deployed to comb the country and seek the young heroes out for recognition.

The field search exercise, which will last for eight weeks to give ample time for the process will take place in 12 states across the country.

According to Head of Marketing, Indomie, Mr. Manpreet Singh, “Outstanding heroic acts of bravery from kids go unnoticed, often ignored and unrewarded.

However, Indomie discovered this and has taken the lead to change the status quo by identifying and celebrating the unsung Nigerian child heroes for the last 10 years through IIDA.”

Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc., Mr. Temitope Ashiwaju, said: “In the last 10 years, Dufil has awarded and rewarded a total of 37 children who have been fearless despite danger and personal injury to themselves.”
