The Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as “shameful, misplaced and breach of law”, the state government’s claim on the ownership of its secretariat building, along the Melford Okilo expressway, Yenagoa.

The party through its Publicity Secretary, Panebi Jones, said though the party is not surprised at the claims made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led Bayelsa government; it has clearly confirmed the state government’s shameful relationship with some dissident elements in the party.

Panebi, in an email response to claims by the state Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Preye Agedah, that the building belong to the state, said it is on record that the genuine owners of the secretariat are in court with the state government over issue of ownership.

He said until the case in court is settled and concluded, the rentage agreement entered into with the company remains legal.
