The Imo State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has urged Nigerians to be patient with the party, as it has resolved to adopt a consensus candidate to fly its flag during next year’s governorship polls.

It stressed that they have resolved not to allow any imposition of candidate from any quarters, adding this is a way of settling the unending faceoff in the choice of governorship candidate among the 14 aspirants under APGA.

A statement issued yesterday by one of the aspirants, Sam Amadi, listed those who opted for the consensus arrangement to include Chief Executive Officer of ABC Transport, Frank Nneji, former Governor Ikedi Ohakim and a former member of the House of Representatives, Uche Onyeagocha.

Others are a former member of the state House of Assembly, Ike C. Ibe, Humphrey Anumudu, Steve Nwoga, Charles Onyeagbako, Chike Nsofor, Ziggy Azike, Philip Ibekwe, Nick Opara-Ndudu, Bright Nwanne and Obi Njoku. They regretted that the party leadership could not organise a primary election to elect a standard bearer among them for the 2019 elections and its failure to meet Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s October 7 deadline for submission of candidate.
