Brazil and Real Madrid legend Marcelo is the latest personality to use Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake’s new song ‘Active,’ featuring American rapper Travis Scott.

In a viral video on social media, Marcelo used the song in a post on his Instagram as he was seen embracing little kids and signing autographs.

This led to many fans, including Nigerians, flooding the comment section on X to express their views.

One X user, Carter, with the handle @005Uthman, wrote, “Grammy loading.”

Another user, King_Richy, with the handle @bigshotar, said it is a massive PR move from Asake’s team.

Also, another X user, Scales Boy @BoyScales, said, “Big hit.”

A few days ago, Marcelo’s former Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo also used the song in a video that went viral.

The Portuguese captain posted a video of him playing table tennis with his crew on his Instagram handle. This drew the attention of fans, including Nigerians, who went to the comment section to voice their opinions.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has shown interest in Nigerian music, as he once shared a video of him and his kids dancing to Rema’s hit “Calm Down.”

The song ‘Active’ is from Asake’s new album titled “Lungu Boy.”

Born Ahmed Ololade, Asake is signed to YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution.

In September 2022, his debut album, Mr. Money with the Vibe, was released and broke the record for the biggest opening day for an African album on Apple Music at the time.

The album debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart and recorded the highest-charting Nigerian debut album in the history of the chart at that time.

His sophomore album, Work of Art, was released in June 2023, becoming his second album to debut at number 66 on the Billboard 200.
