George Henry Ivor Baldock known simply as George Baldock died at the age of 31, (1993-2024).

The sad news of his passing was announced on October 9, 2024, when the late Sheffield player was found dead in his swimming pool in Glyfada, Southern Athens. Here are 5 things to know about Baldock:
He started his football career at age 8
Geroge Baldock started playing football at the tender age of eight. After successfully mastering the art, he joined Milton Keynes Dons Academy Team in 2010. At this team, he played a total game of 125 for the club. After many years, he was loaned to other clubs like: Northampton Town, Tamworth, Oxford United and IBV. He also made two PFA Team of the year from 2015 down to 2016.
He made 441 appearances with 15 goals
Ivor played both at national and league level and made 441 appearances with 15 goals. At the league level, he had 390 appearances with 13 goals, at league cup, he appeared 8 times with no goal, at the national cubs, he made 28 appearances with no goal and for other games, had 15 appearances with 2 goals.

George played for Sheffield United for 7 years.
George Baldock in 2017 was signed by Sheffield United. This is one of the biggest clubs that Geroge had played for. He played as a right-back or right wing-back for most of the clubs. He was a cherished player for the club and was fondly called the Starman.
George had Greek nationality
Ivor was an English-Greek professional footballer. This is because his grandmother was Greek. His nationality also made him eligible to play for both England and Greece at the international level. Baldock was born in England but moved to Athens after signing with Panathinaikos. He made his debut for Greece in 2022 in a match against Northern Ireland.

He liked to keep his private life private
George wasn’t such a social butterfly as pretty much of his private life remained private till today. Not so much is known about his life or assets safe for his career. He lived a life that was quite different from the ‘norm’ of public display of affluence and luxury. However, information gathered from sources showed he was a husband, father and a brother.
