Fatai Odunsi, father of popular Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has confirmed that his son has reached out to him, promising to secure a new house and take care of his 11-year-old daughter.

In a new update shared on Sunday evening by digital creator Akin Abolade, Odunsi stated that the singer had also sorted out his hospital bills after the controversy surrounding his public plea for financial assistance.

“My son has reached out to me, he has asked people to be looking out for a house for me. He has also promised to take care of his 11-year-old daughter and has sorted out my hospital bills,” Odunsi said.

This follows a viral video where he claimed he had been abandoned since suffering a stroke. The situation sparked heated reactions online, with many questioning Asake’s response.
However, the singer had previously addressed the issue through music in a TikTok post.

“Even my father wants to cajole me, but I stand firm and they can’t off my light. I used to press money for him and I do it with one mind. If you strike, I will move on. No one can quench my fire. God is the one that is taking me ahead in life,” Asake sang in Yoruba.

Following the initial controversy, actor and singer Lege Miami also revealed that Odunsi had reached out to him, lamenting financial struggles and poor health.

“Asake, your dad called me this morning. He said it’s not about the money you want to give him; he said you shouldn’t worry. He called you because he is not feeling well, and you have not been answering his calls,” Lege Miami stated.
