Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Rutie will unveil her latest single Bonju on 6 June 2025, in a cross-cultural collaboration with Spanish singer Deannys.
The track, described as a fusion of Afrobeats rhythms and Latin melodies, marks a significant step in the rising singer’s musical journey.
Bonju, a bilingual production, features lyrics in both English and Spanish and is rooted in themes of romance and connection. With an upbeat tempo and rhythmic instrumentation, the song is expected to appeal to listeners across diverse markets.
“This song is about that spark you feel when you meet someone new,” Rutie said. “We wanted it to feel global, sexy, and full of life—and that’s exactly what we made.”
Deannys brings a distinctive Latin flair to the collaboration, complementing Rutie’s vocal style with smooth Spanish lyrics. The track blends contemporary Afrobeats with elements of reggaeton and pop, reflecting both artists’ interest in cross-border musical expression.
The single will be released on all major streaming platforms, with an accompanying music video scheduled for release shortly after. According to Rutie’s team, Bonju is designed to capture the energy of the summer season while showcasing the power of cultural fusion through music.
Bonju follows Rutie’s previous releases that have gained traction on local airwaves, and it signals her continued effort to reach a broader, international audience.
