Nigerian singer and music executive, Darey Art Alade, and his wife, Deola Art Alade, have survived a fire incident after their vehicle went up in flames on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge.

The couple made this known in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, confirming that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. earlier in the week.

According to the statement, the car caught fire while in motion and was completely burnt.

However, no life was lost in the incident as their driver managed to escape unhurt.

“It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters,” the post read.

Photos and videos shared online showed the aftermath of the fire, with the vehicle visibly damaged while some passersby tried to assist.

Deola stated that they were sharing the experience not to attract sympathy, but to remind others that material things can be replaced while life cannot.

“We’re choosing to remain thankful to God for protection, for perspective, and for the quiet strength to keep going,” she added.

Darey, known for his role as a coach on The Voice Nigeria and co-founder of entertainment agency Livespot360, has yet to make a separate statement.

The incident has drawn reactions from fellow celebrities, fans and well-wishers, who expressed relief and gratitude that the couple emerged safe.
